What it smells like

Green and tender, and just a little melancholy

Basil and chamomile open it, sharp and slightly bitter, like stems snapped in the hand. Rose and jasmine arrive underneath as real absolutes rather than an idea of flowers. Then cocoa and carrot seed hold the base — warm, powdery, faintly edible. It doesn’t announce itself. People tend to notice it at close range, which is rather the point.

Why anyone would want a perfume for sadness

Because sadness isn’t a malfunction. It’s the thing that slows you down enough to feel what actually matters, and it softens you toward other people — which is why it sits underneath tenderness, attention, and most of what anyone has ever made that was worth keeping.

We’re not selling you a low mood. We’re selling access to the state on the far side of it: the one where you can sit with someone without fixing them, or stay with a piece of work long enough for it to become good.

If you’re building an anchor, apply when the state is already alive in you, not before. The perfume marks the state; it doesn’t produce it. Five or six pairings is usually enough for the association to hold.

Sizes and shelf life

5ml — roll-on. Sold singly at £30, or as the four for £80. About three months of regular use.
10ml — roll-on in a handmade box. Available only in the four-bottle set, £140. About six months each.
1ml — available only in the tester set, £24, credited against your first order.

Jojoba doesn’t go off quickly. Keep it out of direct sun and it’ll be good for around two years; keep it in the fridge and longer.

A note on skin

Natural doesn’t mean inert. This is a perfume oil made from concentrated plant extracts, and plants are chemically complicated.

Patch test on your inner arm and wait 24 hours before wearing it properly. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or being treated for anything, ask your doctor first. Keep it away from your eyes.
